It was early in the morning and everyone was in the sleigh. Nothing would stand in our way this time. Pitch was going down.
North landed at my lake in Burgess. The ice was as thick as always. After what happened to me I made it my responsibility to never let anyone fall in that icy cold water again.
"Are we all ready?" Bunny asked.
"Ready!" North pulled out his swords.
"I'm ready!" Tooth said, and the two little fairies including Baby Tooth, squeaked.
Sandy had a determined look on his face and he nodded to Bunny.
"Don't count me out either." I said clutching my staff.
"Then let's go." Bunny smirked.
The Nightmares could sense something. It wasn't very strong, but they knew what it was…fear. They started to get excited. It didn't matter how weak this fear was, they would still go after it.
"Jack look!" Tooth pointed. There they were.
"Right on time." I smirked. They started coming out of the shadows, creeping closer and closer to us.
"You know the plan Jack." Bunny said with his boomerangs ready.
I stood my ground watching one of the dark horses come towards me. I charged straight for the horse and when I got close enough, I jumped on it and quickly grabbed it by its mane trying to get control. It tried to buck me off, but I pulled on its mane harder. When it finally stood still I look up to see the other are trying to gain control of theirs. After they got control of their horses, Sandy quickly made a rope out of his dream sand and lassoed it around all of us.
"Come on!" I shouted, as more fearlings came charging for us. Tooth and her fairies were right behind me and Baby Tooth joined me on my shoulder. Bunny, North and Sandy were right behind us. Bunny started whipping his boomerangs at the other Nightmares, while North was getting any of the ones that were getting too close to us. I was leading the group to that same entrance from before, where I had last seen Sophie.
"There it is!" I shouted pointed to the dark hole.
We kept going faster until finally we all jumped in. My horse led us all through the dark tunnel. I look back and see the glowing sandy rope around everyone. When I turn back around, I see a dim light at the end of the tunnel. We finally made it in.
I stopped the horse and waited until everyone else was in before I got off. When everyone came out of the tunnel I hopped off, and the rope disappeared. The others got off their horses and Bunny motioned for us to gather around him.
"Alright, we're in. Jack, I'm guessing you know where Jamie is?"
"Yeah, but I have no idea where Sophie is."
"Ok, this is where we split up. Jack, you and Tooth are gonna go look for Jamie. Me, North and Sandy are gonna go look for Sophie. Tooth, you have them?"
"Yes sir! Here's Sophie's, since you guys are gonna look for her. My little fairy will go with you." Tooth said handing the little tube to the fairy. The little fairy flew over to
Bunny and perched herself on his shoulder, just like Baby Tooth did with me.
"Alright guys, let's try and get out of here as fast as we can. Good luck."
"Let's go this way." I said motioning for Tooth to follow me. Her and Baby Tooth were scared, and I could tell. This place was dark, and a little two quiet. None of them have ever been here before except for me and Baby Tooth.
"It's ok Tooth, and Baby. I won't let anything happen to you guys, I promise." I grabbed Tooth's hand, and she blushed, averting her eyes.
"Are we almost there, Jack?"
"Yeah, I think its throu—" there he was.
"Jack?" Tooth followed my gaze and gasped when she saw Jamie, and let go of my hand.
"Come on," I ran over to Jamie and Tooth came behind me, still in shock, "You have his teeth?"
"Right here." She practically whispered. She pressed the little blue diamond on the tube and it started to glow. Jamie's eyes then widened and he stopped shaking. Tooth looked over to see that Jamie was all of a sudden calmer.
"Jamie? Jamie can you hear me?" I looked at him. He gasped, almost like when he saw me for the first time.
"J-Jack…Jack…F-Frost." He managed to say, but his eyes were still lost in space.
"Jamie, listen to me. You have to snap out of it. Pitch is doing this to you, but you can't let him. Can you hear me?"
"I know, Jamie, I know. Listen to me, follow my voice. Get out of there."
"I-I hear you…I-I c-can't see you…" then his loud piercing scream filled our ears. Tooth started sobbing at the sound of his pain.
"Jamie, please! None of its real, none of it! It's all in your head, it's not real!" he stopped scream and was panting again.
"There's no point Jack. You're wasting your time."
I quickly covered my ears, but the pain was too much. I couldn't help but scream.
"Get out of my head!"
"Jack what's happening?!" Tooth started panicking.
"J-Jack…h-help…me…" Tears rolled down Jamie's face. I looked back at him.
"Jamie, listen to me. A long time ago you said that you believed in Pitch, but that you weren't afraid of him. You shouldn't be afraid of him now! He can't hurt you if you're not afraid of him!"
"Oh Jack, it's no use. There is nothing you can do for your little brother." I froze. He would know that I considered Jamie my little brother. I clenched my fists and I could feel my face burn red with anger.
"Just like your sister couldn't do anything for you. What a shame for her to die, knowing that she was the cause of your death." I held back the burning tears.
"Shut up! Don't you dare bring her into this!"
"How can you live forever Jack? Knowing that you let this happen to Jamie."
"Jack, he's not worth it. Remember why we're really here." Tooth said, putting her hand on my shoulder. I turned to look at her tear-filled eyes, and I focused back on Jamie.
"Jamie please just wake up. You have to be strong. You can do it, you just have to believe."
"Jack…Jack…I-I can see you…"
Bunny had his boomerangs ready, as he lead the small group through the mysterious dark lair. Sandy followed closely behind him, along with North. Then they heard something very quiet, coming from straight ahead. It sounded like crying, from a little girl.
There she was, sitting in a cage, hugging her knees and crying. Bunny was filled with relief and sadness after seeing the little girl like that.
"Little fairy, do your stuff." Bunnymund said. The fairy took the tube and pressed the little blue diamond.
Sophie stopped crying and looked up. She wasn't looking at the guardians. It seems more like she was staring off into nothingness. Her eyes widened, and she didn't know what was happening. She saw many of her memories flash right before her eyes. She was surprised to see her dream, it was real after all.
When she seemed to snap out of it, Bunny stepped forward.
"Sophie." Her eyes darted to him, and she looked shocked and excited at the same time.
"The Easter Bunny…Santa…Sandman." She just stared at them wide eyed.
"She, she can see us. She can see us!" Bunny laughed with excitement.
"Bunny let's get her out of here." North smiled. Bunny nodded and flung his boomerang at the lock and the door creaked open.
"Come on ya little ankle biter." Bunny held out his arms and gave her a warm smile. She ran into Bunny's arms and she cried. He held her tight, not wanting to let her go for a second.
"I thought it was all a dream. I didn't know you were real." She cried.
"You just have to believe in us." Bunny gently squeezed the little girl.
"Promise me, you won't leave me."
"I promise. You're my little ankle biter." Sandy made an 'awe' face and North teared up a bit, quickly wiping it away.
Bunny picked her up in his arms and she held on to him tightly.
"Let's go get, Jack, Tooth, and Jamie."
"Jamie…" the young girl gasped.
"Jamie…Jamie look at me…" I gasped. He blinked a few times before he looked at me. A weak smile began to form and tears started rolling down his face.
"Jack…I can see you." I gently picked him up and hugged him tight. I could hear his uneven breathing as he cried into my shoulder.
"It's ok, don't cry. Everything is gonna be alright." I told him.
"Jack, Tooth!" North called for us. We both turned around to see they already had Sophie.
"Jamie!" Sophie jumped out of Bunny's arms and ran towards us. Jamie let me go and hugged his sister, and they both cried.
"Come on, we shouldn't be here any longer." I motioned for everyone to follow me out of here. Bunny picked up Sophie and I carried Jamie on my back.
"Quickly, let's get out of here." North said rushing the group to the same tunnel we came from.
I didn't like this one bit. That was all too easy. After all these years, Pitch wouldn't make this easy for us. He wouldn't just let us all get away.
We ran towards the tunnel and we just couldn't wait to get out.
"Did you really think you could escape with my prisoners so easily?" Pitch laughed as he came out of the shadows.
He smirked looking directly at Jamie…
